I held off writing about the iPad since everyone under the sun had blog articles up mins after the announcement and continually wrote throughout the day. But, I have to at least mention it.
iPad=Large iPod Touch
Discussions about how it will affect education is a toss up. I believe it will be as beneficial if not a little more than an iPod Touch. The bigger screen will be easier to manipulate and read from. The lack of flash and camera keeps it as a tool that will not take over the classroom and be as reasonably announce as it is a helpful tool.
Apple really dropped the ball which has been a build up for years. But hit the mark just a little high for the price, although many thought it was opening price would be $1,000.
So is the iPad still big news? Besides seeing conferences for how to use the iPad in the classroom,, no it is not a big news item. It died down as fast as Google Wave died. Which reminds me to check my Google Wave account. I have moved on playing with my AVerPens that I have as a demo unit right now.
