Start Simple

Start Simple that is Symbaloo tag line. But what is Symbaloo?

Until today I had no clue. I was reading a blog post by Dennis Grice "Somday?" Dennis is talking about a video he had seen that was shared to him. The video (posted below) talks about a 7th grade student and how she uses technology every day in her school. Dennis talks about how he wishes his students at his school would be like. If you know Dennis and if you know his school, you would know he is on top of his game for Lutheran Schools. I have used Dennis and his school as a model where I want my small school to be. I do have to agree with Dennis, that if all of our students were like this student in the video, we would be doing good.

In the video I see the student using something call Symbaloo and I never heard or seen it before. So I searched and found the site. Here is what they have to say about themselves

Symbaloo can be used as a startpage, your personal desktop for the internet.

What can I do with Symbaloo?
With Symbaloo, you can now create your own desktop on internet, including your favorite websites and sources. The advantage is that you can navigate easily to the most important websites, without remembering the links.

Just try to click on one of the coloured blocks. You will see that it is possible to search from the centerbox in useful websites, such as Google or Youtube.

More options…
Much more is possible with Symbaloo. Listening to the radio, reading the news or reading to your new mail quickly… If you click on an empty grey field, you will enter a new world of blocks!
The best fun is to find out all of the features yourself, and explore Symbaloo step by step.

I will have to play around and write up a review in the future. Have you been using Symbaloo? What do you think?
