Branching Out

I hope all the teachers are finding the start of the school year going ok. I already had to throw my lesson plan book out the window. I have a class of all boys! (only 13, but feel like 100) I have a couple of boys that need my attention the whole time, and the rest most of the time. I felt I was the most prepared this year and it was a horrible start. So I am doing something I wanted to do, but felt resistance from the Board of Ed Chair. I am doing projects and activities. We are doing some podcasting, which is really simply reading our story for reading or explaining our math lesson. I want to take this even further, but again my attention is split 13 ways and I can't be everywhere at once. But, that is not what this post is about. This is not the branching out I was talking about in the title. Recently I was asked to be part of a new Blog, Lutheran Educators' Guild (http://www.lutheraneducators.com) It is to connect Lutheran teachers (in Lutheran schools and public). Posts will talk about everyday life as an educator. I have been posting a few of my posts from here on there, but will also write original posts for the site. If you are a Lutheran Educator check it out.
