Digital and Multi-Media Mobile Devices Acceptable Use Policy
To be able to educate the children in every area of their wellness, from spiritual to physical the school has a strict policy on the use of Digital and Multi-Media Mobile Instruments.
- As the hammer and oven were what students used in 1905 to teach the students how to maintain life in the time period, we will allow the use cell phones, iPods, and etc to learn the proper and respectful use of these instruments relating to education. We will use these tools to be engaged life-long learners.
- The teacher and/or Principal have final say on how the class will implement each device to coincide with the lessons of the day, week, or month.
- Misuse of the instruments will be detrimental to the students’ education process. We will respect the learning tools.
- Students will sign and respect a trust covenant. Students will learn how to properly use the tools of the trade in today’s professional world.
- The use of cell phones
- There will be no calling family members, fellow students, or other individuals during the school’s operating hours. If you need to call a family member contact the school office.
- Hallways are cell phone free areas, unless instructed by a teacher or staff member.
- Texting during Written Exams are not allowed. During any other assessment time the teacher will set the expectations.
- Bathrooms and locker rooms are cell phone free areas at all time.
- Respect the teachers’ instructions on use of the cell phone during instruction time.
- Any pictures or audio taken with a cell phone of another individual must have the subject of the photograph or recording permission.
- Internet access must be only accessed upon teachers’ permission.
- The teacher has final say with how cell phones will be implemented during instruction time.
- The use of iPod
- Listening to personal non-educational material is prohibited during school operating hours.
- The teacher and/or principal have final say with how iPods will be implemented during instruction time.
- The use of Digital Camera and Video Cameras
- Any pictures or videos or audio taken with a camera of another individual must have the subject of the photograph or video or recording permission.
- Bathrooms and locker rooms are camera free areas at all time
- The teacher and/or principal have final say with how cameras will be implemented during instruction time.
- Failure to Comply
- Student Safety is foremost more important than the use of the tools of the trade.
i. First Offense: Warning and Reminder of the AUP and offenses.
ii. Second Offense: The student receives an F on the project and must complete 5 Service Hours for the school. Parents are called
iii. Third or More Offense: The student receives an F on the project, must complete 20 Service Hours, Write a page reflection, and put up before the disciplinary team. Parents must meet with disciplinary team with student.
- Principal and/or disciplinary team reserves the right to advance an infraction to any of the three Offensives mention above.
- The principal reserves the right to alter or change the policies at any time and without prior notice. Any changes to the AUP will be presented to the student and parents within thirty school days of the date of change.
